Scott and Katie's Wedding 29th August 2010

We first met Katie when we photographed Darren and Leanne's wedding 4 years ago, she was a bridesmaid, now it was her big day. We always enjoy returning to groups of friends and catching up with them.

Katie was at the hairdressers when we arrived at her parent's home to photograph the dress, shoes and accessories, everything was laid out neatly and we were able to get on, Katie is very organised and we knew that everything was going to go to plan as discussed at our planning meeting.

Katie arrived back from the hairdressers with time to spare and the champagne cork was popped for a celebratory drink before getting into her dress.

Katie's dress from Special Occasions looked amazing, the detail around the neckline sparkled and the veil (made by her Mum) just finished it off. With a few bridal portraits in the lounge Katie then joined the bridesmaids in the garden for a few photos. It was overcast and a little breezy but so far no rain.

We left Katie to go and meet the guys at Parley Manor, they looked really smart with nerves just starting to show. The guests started to arrive and within no time at all the bridesmaids soon arrived with Katie not far behind.

We enjoyed the time spent with the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride while the bride met the registrar, it enabled us to get some natural photos in the conservatory. The Bride rejoined the party and after a few photos the bridal party was ready for the procession down the lawn to the ceremony where the guests were waiting for the arrival of the Bride.

Katie and Scott smiled their way through the ceremony and with the odd kiss or two you could see that they are well suited to each other. On leaving the ceremony they processed back up to the main lawn for the photo of everyone from the conservatory roof followed by the formal group photos.

After a short break we ventured into the walled garden with the bridal party before being left with the Bride and Groom for a few special photos, we had to dodge a shower which only lasted a few seconds.

The guests were shown to their seats for the wedding breakfast and the couple were announced in to cheers and a round of applause. With the meal over and the champagne poured the speeches were anticipated, the Father of the Bride followed by Groom and finally the Best Man whose speech was well delivered and prompted a lot of laughter and not too much embarrassment!

With the room being prepared for the evening we had a little time for a few more photos. Katie and Scott welcomed their evening guests before taking to the floor for their first dance.

We wish Katie and Scott all the very best for their future together and thank them for their hospitality, we look forward to seeing them on their return from honeymoon.
