Paul & Lucy's Wedding 23rd December 2009

Probably the worst winter weather so far this year. We listened to the weather and travel reports on the radio from about 6am. Each report was getting worse with more reported black ice, freezing fog and road closures. At one point all the roads out of Bournemouth seemed to be closed.

The ceremony was at Highcliffe Castle so we set off really early, luckily we didn't encounter any problems and arrived to find Paul and some of the guys tucking into breakfast in the tea room.

It was very cold and raining quite heavily so much of the photography was inside and as there were no other weddings that day we didn't have to work to the normal time restrictions. Jo the wedding co-ordinator was very helpful.

Lucy arrived with her Dad and some of the bridesmaids, unfortunately the bridesmaids car didn't turn up so some squeezed in with Lucy and the other arrived a short time after in another car. Lucy was greeted by a bag piper (arranged as a surprise by Paul).

The ceremony took place in the Great Hall and mulled wine was served to the guests in the drawing room whilst the formal group photos were taken in the Winter Garden. The guests were then invited to make their way to Rhinefield House for the wedding breakfast. Paul and Lucy remained at Highcliffe Castle for some photos of just the two of them. We used the window area in the library before going out to the North Porch which is undercover.

We then went on to Rhinefield House, unfortunately it was raining so we made use of the House and had a trip round with Paul and Lucy whilst the guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly before sitting down for the wedding breakfast.

We hope that Paul and Lucy had an enjoyable evening and that they were able to set off early the next day for their honeymoon. We wish them all the very best for their future together and wish them all the best for the New Year.
