A glorious hot and sunny day, summer could be here at last!
Gary and Kate chose The Orchid for their wedding ceremony and reception for it's modern and contemporary feel. They were hoping to have the ceremony outside in the courtyard and they weren't disappointed, the weather couldn't have been better.
We found Kate in the bridal suite having her hair done, all was very calm, organised and going to time. We knew that Kate was going to be ready as planned for some bridal shots. This is part of the day that we really enjoy, this time is invaluable as it can't be repilcated at any other time. It's that moment when the bride is absolutely perfect.
While Kate was getting ready her Mum and Dad were decorating the cake. Kate's dad Geoffrey used to be a baker and made the flowers to decorate the cake.
After some time with Kate (we could have spent even longer with her!) we met Gary, his bestman Richard and Luke and Simon the ushers for a few photos at the front of The Orchid.
The sunglasses came in handy for the reservoir dogs look!!
After the ceremony and the family photos we took the bridal party off to the beach, we took the cliff railway down to the beach where we found a welcome breeze, sunbathers and a few brave enough taking a dip in the sea. Our bridal party decided not to join them!
On returning to the hotel the wedding breakfast was served after the speeches, always a good idea to have the speeches first, that way the speakers can enjoy their meal.
This was the first wedding that we have gone to the beach twice. After the wedding breakfast we headed off to Durley Chine with just Gary and Kate, the soft lighting and fewer people produced some fabulous images.
Gary and Kate are on honeymoon in the Maldives and we hope that they are having a fantastic time.
We wish them a long and happy marriage and look forward to seeing them on their return.
