Mike and Carly's Wedding 9th August 2009

Welcome to our new blog and what better way to start than with our first Jewish wedding. And it wasn’t even raining!

It was not without some trepidation that we began our days work however an invitation to attend Carly’s sister Samantha’s wedding earlier in the year to observe the ceremony certainly helped to know where to be and at the right time.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark and Andrea (Carly’s parents) for their help and hospitality offered to us since meeting them both earlier this year.

An early start at Mane Street salon where we found Carly, Samantha and Andrea enjoying the full attention of Andrew, Anthony and Ezra having their hair and make-up perfected for the day. To our surprise we found Samantha with her leg in (pink) plaster having broken her ankle a few days before!

A quick visit to Carly’s parents’ home to photograph the dress, shoes etc followed and then off to meet Mike, his Best Man Mark, Ushers and the Dads at the Marriott Highcliff. Our new photographer Julian had already made a start with them preparing for the day ahead. A photoshoot in the gardens at the hotel eased all the nerves.

We then returned to Mark and Andrea’s home to find Carly, Samantha and Andrea cool, calm, collected (well sort of!) and ready. Carly looked absolutely stunning and walking down the staircase to greet Andrea inevitably produced a tear or two. We were joined by Mike’s mum and sister, Leonie and Mel. After the bridal portraits inside we made the most of the lovely weather in the garden taking photos of everyone.

The Chuppah was held at The Bournemouth Hebrew Congregational Synagogue.
We were in for an emotional couple of hours with Tish, Bedeken and marriage ceremony conducted by Rabbi Lionel Rosenfeld.

Location photography at Coy Pond was a welcome breather for Mike and Carly and resulted in some fabulous shots of the couple before going on to their reception at the Dorchester Suite, Marriott Highcliff where they joined their guests for the family photographs in the gardens. During the reception dinner the formalities of the speeches, toast and benching were interspersed with Israeli dancing and a beautifully choreographed first dance by the newly married couple. Mike and Carly were joined by their guests on the dance floor which did not empty for the remainder of the night even Samantha joined in!
We would like to extend our thanks to Tony and Doug of Videoscene and especially Toastmaster Steven Warwick.

Hurry back from Honeymoon Mike and Carly we have one or two pictures to show you!!!!!!!!

  1. Hi Dave and Janice,
Greetings from a VERY hot Dubai.
Just seen the blog and the pictures. They all look incredible and couldn't be happier with them. They have made Carly cry (again!) and we can't wait to see the rest of the photos.
It was an honour and a pleasure working with you and look forward to seeing you both when we return from honeymoon.
Thank you for starting your blog off with our special day...
    Love Carly and Mike
